Botteganove – Salomé
The mosaic series “Airbrush” is a decoration pattern characterized by the sfumato color application by means of a spray water-based suspension on the ceramic at the bisque level. The sfumato is handmade by the operator: the dosing of the colour and the movement of his hand must be constant and precise. The collection draws its inspiration from Angelo Simonetto’s work. He is the artistic director of Galvani in Pordenone, the historical potter’s workshop that started experimenting the airbrush technique in the twenties. The mosaic Airbrush of BottegaNove refers to Simonetto’s research with its features: particular graphic patterns, the slight sfumato and the clear-cut lines that give a polychromous and contemporary appearance. The topic gets developed in a range of colors in a standard 30×30 cm sheet defining the decoration applied onto the wall. The outcome is a meaningful aesthetic innovation applied to mosaic created with sophisticated contemporary color matches.
