The composition of our product is what truly sets us apart. Our boards are engineered hardwood composed of two layers. The top layer is 100% White European oak, sourced mainly from France. The bottom layer is made of several layers of birch plywood. We use intentionally birch because it provides the perfect density to deliver optimal stability.

We combine both layers with the highest quality D4 wood adhesive, which acts as a barrier to control moisture, and a solvent-free industrial grade glue (100% formaldehyde-free). At this point, we use a cold drying technique to let the glue set. This ensures that the structural integrity of the wood is not compro – mised. The wood goes to the finishing line, and we apply a water-based stain passed through an oven that evaporates any extra moisture and produces a vivid dye. Ultimately, we apply six layers of UV-matt lacquer to guarantee maximum resistance to the wood. All finishing products are supplied by Bona. The resulting product is a masterpiece of wooden engineering.

We take care of even the smallest details to deliver only the best quality. In our factory in Vigo, all quality control areas are staffed by women because attention to detail is of the utmost importance at RIVA.
